Academic Board

Academic Board of university is responsible for the maintenance and encouragement of teaching skills and research developments of university. The board develops the strategies for scholarships, teaching and researches in the university. It monitors the faculties and teaching staff of university. All the policies, rules and regulation are managed by the members of the academic board. Our Rector is the head of the Academic Board. Almost 75% of the members of academic board is the staff of pedagogical department. The Academic Board also consists of vice rectors,

the heads of the self-governing bodies of the University and directors of educational-scientific institutes, scientific secretaries, deans of the faculties, the chief accountant and the director of the scientific library. The students and elected representatives of the University are also the members of the Academic Board. In every 7 years the academic board membership is approved by the Rector. The Academic Board deals with the following tasks:
  • Submits the Draft Statute to the Conference of the University working body of uzhnu and performs amendments to it.
  • Submits the proposals concerning appointment and dismissal of Vice Rectors, directors of the educational- scientific institutes, the director of the library and the chief accountant to the Rector of the University.
  • Approves the financial plan of the University.
  • Assessing the research-pedagogic work of the departments.
  • Elects the heads of departments and full professors by secret ballot.
  • Approve the directions of the scientific work.
  • Approve decisions based on concerning the organization of the teaching and educational process.
  • Approve decisions on concerning the academic status of assistant professors, professors and senior scientific workers.
  • Approves curriculums and syllabus.
  • Awards the honorary titles "The Honoured Professor of Uzhhorod National University" and "The Doctor Honoris Causa of Uzhhorod National University."
The schedule of the meetings of Academic Board is set up by the Rector's office on the basis of the proposals of the institute, faculties and members of Academic Board. The Academic Board decisions are put into action by the Rector's orders. The University Academic Board meetings are organized monthly in the conference hall of Academic Board.
